The Great Wall – Over 2,000 years ago Qin Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of China, began construction on what is known as The Great Wall of China. It is a true fact that the wall can be seen from Earth’s orbit. The Great Wall of China is one of the eight wonders of the world. Originally it ran approximately 3,107 miles long, but was later added on to being approximately 4,163 miles from the east to the west. Best viewing sites of the wall where it is still relatively in its original condition are in the city of Simatai. There are few transportation outlets to this point of the wall and not many tourists know about it unless they are on guided tours.

Mt. Huangshan – Gorgeous views of China can be seen from the top of Mt. Huangshan. It is best known for its oddly shaped pine trees and crystal clear mountain springs. Visitors have the option of taking an aerial tram to the top of the mountain or they can hike the shorter yet hard way up to the top via the eastern entrance of the mountain or they can brave the western entrance, which is very difficult and much harder to ascend. Before trekking your way to the top, visitors must pay an entrance fee of 65 Yuan ($7.85 US dollars). The best route to view all the beauty that Mt. Huangshan is to travel up the eastern route then descend down the western route where you will be at a hot springs. The overall time to get from top to bottom by taking the best route is approximately 10 hours.

The Grand Canal – At 1,118 miles long, The Grand Canal is the longest man made canal in the world. The Grand Canal travels from Hangzhou in the south to Beijing in the north. It contains 60 bridges and 24 locks. It is believed that the oldest section of the canal was constructed in either the fourth or fifth century B.C. Visitors are able to travel down the canal on guided boat tours to take in the beautiful scenic views.
